Our culture is one of consumption, not sacrifice. Sadly, this cultural weakness demonstrates it’s ugliness in the form of disloyalty to the local church whenever there is a newer, bigger or better thing somewhere else. Church “goers” often search for the next boost of spiritual self-indulgence with no intent of sacrificially serving God. This attitude creates a vacuum that sucks the spirituality out of the services replacing it with the criticism of wantonness.
Ga 5:15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.
It is called a “Church Service” because a local body of believers bind themselves together in a membership, forming a body, fit together by God, for the purpose of serving HIM.
Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Look up the phrase “one another” in the NT, and consider how one can claim that it’s presence 39 times supports the self indulgence of church hopping.
Don’t be a church “goer”, serving self. Be a loyal church member, serving God.
